Pumpkin Soup

2 tbsp oil
1/4 c onion -- minced
3 tbsp flour
1 1/2 c chicken broth
1 c milk or cream
2 c pureed pumpkin
salt and pepper -- to taste
Saute onion in oil until limp. Stir in flour, then chicken broth. Cook and stir until thickened. Add milk and pumpkin, salt and pepper. Heat almost to boiling. Garnish with a dollop of sour cream or yogurt. Makes about 1 qt.
