    Source of Recipe

    my own

    Recipe Introduction

We love chicken 'n' dressing and over the years I've made mine this way and everyone likes it.I make extra so I can freeze some for a future meal

    List of Ingredients

    Kayce's Chicken and Dressing

Boil a 2-3 lb hen or use 4-5 boneless breasts.

    Add in the pot:
    1 large onion, chopped
    5-6 celery ribs, sliced
    Sage, to taste
    Poultry seasoning
    Salt and pepper
    Chicken bouillion

I use a 6 qt. pot and fill water almost to the top, bring to a boil and simmer until tender. Then cool and shred, or chop the chicken.

Then, in a large bowl I use:

1 box stuffing mix/seasonings (chicken flavor)
    ** 1 (10-inch) cake of cornbread, crumbled
If I have leftover biscuits I add them too

Then add the chicken , more sage and poultry seasoning, add the broth mix well. it should be kind of "soupy".

I then take out half and put in a tupperware bowl to freeze and to the rest I add 2-3 eggs, slightly beaten. Pour into a baking dish about 9x13. Bake @ 350 F. for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until golden.

    ** For a 10-inch cornbread I use:
    2 cups cornmeal mix
    1-1 cups buttermilk
    1 egg
    1 Tblsp. melted Crisco

Mix well. Heat a 10-inch iron skillet with melted crisco, pour in cornbread batter and bake @ 350 F. for 20-25 minutes.
