Oven Fried Green Tomatoes
1/4 cup corn meal
1/4 tsp.salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 egg well beaten, mixed with water
1 Tbs.canola oil
2 large green tomatoes,sliced into 1/2 in. slices
Preheat oven to 450º. Combine the cornmeal with salt & pepper.Mix the egg and the oil.
Dip the tomatoes in the egg mixture, then into the cornmeal mixture. place the tomatoes on a non-stick cookie sheet and bake for 35-40 minutes or till golden brown.
