    Holiday Bacon Appetizers II (Sweet)

    Source of Recipe

    Internet

    Recipe Introduction

Jessica makes these and they just get devoured! They are the sweet version of the regular Holiday Bacon Appetizers. Some people just place a piece of bacon the same size of the cracker on the cracker, but Jessica wraps the cracker with a half slice of bacon. Some online versions suggest adding a little cayenne to the brown sugar.

    List of Ingredients

    Club Crackers
    Thin-sliced bacon, sliced in half
    Brown sugar

    Recipe

Preheat the oven to 250 degrees.

Prepare a baking sheet by lining with foil and a rack (spray the rack with cooking spray). For ease in assembly, place the crackers on a piece of foil or wax paper. Sprinkle about 1/2 teaspoon of brown sugar on each cracker – you want to make sure that you spread it out over the entire cracker. Wrap 1/2 piece of bacon around each cracker, being careful to completely cover the cracker. You want it to fit snugly, but don't stretch it too tight as you wrap. Place them on the prepared baking rack and bake for 2 hours.

They will still be a bit soft when they come out of the oven and will crisp up as they cool to room temperature.

NOTE: You can make these ahead of time and then freeze or refrigerate. When you are ready to serve, just thaw and warm in the oven for about 10 minutes.
