    Recipe Introduction

These are very easy and make a great snack. You can cut them short and make puffs or leave them in long strips and make straws. The KEY is to use really, really good imported Parmesan cheese.

    List of Ingredients

    • 2 sheets frozen Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 3/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
    • salt and freshly ground black pepper

    Instructions

    1. Allow pastry to thaw to a workable state. Roll out each sheet until it's about 1/8" thick. Brush both sides with the egg. Sprinkle cheese, salt and pepper on one cheet. Put the other sheet, egg side down, on top of the cheese.
    2. With a rolling pin, roll over the puff pastry and cheese "sandwich" to make sure it sticks together. Chill for 20-30 minutes.
    3. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Remove the pastry from the refrigerator and cut into 1/2" wide strips. Holding down one end, twist each strip a few times. Place on baking sheet(s), about 1 1/2" apart. Bake until light brown, 10-15 minutes. Let cool.
