    Parmesan Cheese Straws

    Recipe Introduction


    These are really easy to make and very good. Use the best Parmesan cheese that you can afford - never, never use the pre-shredded kind!!!


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 sheets frozen puff pastry
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 3/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
    • salt and pepper, to taste


    Instructions


    1. Allow puff pastry dough to warm up slightly, then roll each sheet out until its about 1/8" thick. Brush both sheets with egg. Sprinkle cheese, salt and pepper on one sheet. Put the other sheet, egg side down, on top of the cheese.
    2. With a rolling pin, roll over the pastry to make sure that it sticks together. Chill for 20 - 30 minutes. Remove from refrigerator and cut into 1/2" wide strips (a pizza cutter is great for this), twist strip and place on baking sheet about 1 1/2" apart.

    3. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Bake 10 - 15 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool.
