    Recipe Introduction

These are deceptive. They are so easy to make and are so impressive. I came up with the idea of drizzling the cheese with black pepper infused honey. I also drizzled some on the puffs when they were done baking. That was a wonderful addition. We thought that these would be good made smaller, too. You could certainly use any cheese that you like, but it should be a fairly strong and good melting cheese. UPDATE: I tried this with a combination of a very creamy goat cheese and some shredded Fontina and it was delicious. I also added a dash of hot sauce.

    List of Ingredients

    1 sheet of puff pastry
    1 egg, mixed with 1 T. water
    4 1/2 oz. bleu cheese

    Recipe

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Divide the puff pastry sheet into 6 rectangles on a floured surface. Place a 3/4 oz. blob of cheese on half of each rectangle. Brush the edges with the egg wash and fold over and seal the edges. Brush the outside with the egg wash and bake for 12-13 minutes until puffed and golden.

    Serves 6.
