    Recipe Introduction

    Delicious and so easy. Cssr215 posted this especially for me, and I am so glad that she did. We loved this meatloaf! The unusual step of layering the brown sugar and catsup in the pan made a sweet/savory top that effectively caramelized the outside of the loaf. I use a 2-piece loaf pan that has holes in the top pan so the grease drains out. This was moist without being at all greasy.

    List of Ingredients

    1/2 C. brown sugar
    1/2 C. catsup
    1 1/2 lb. hamburger
    1/4 t. pepper
    1 1/2 t. salt
    1 small onion-diced
    1/4 t. ground ginger
    2 eggs-beaten
    3/4 C. crushed saltine crackers

    Recipe

    Butter loaf pan in bottom. Press in brown sugar. Spread catsup over brown sugar. Mix all remaining ingredients together. Shape into a loaf. Put loaf on top of catsup. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. To serve turn upside on plate.
