1 loaf Italian bread, cut in half horizontally
1 T. juiced garlic (use microplane or garlic press)
8 T. butter (1/2 melted; 1/2 softened)
1 t. garlic powder
1 t. water
1/2 t. salt (omit if using salted butter)
Recipe
Heat oven to 450F.
Place the juiced garlic to the melted butter and microwave for 1 minute. Stir halfway through.
Mix the garlic powder and water together. Add the soft butter and melted butter and salt (if using). Spread on the bread halves and place on baking sheet. Bake for 3-4 minutes. Turn the loaves over, place another sheet pan over top and press down lightly. With the sheet pan still on top, return to the oven and bake another 8 minutes.
