    Recipe Introduction


    This makes wonderful toast and GREAT French toast! Also - NO KNEADING! And just one rising. This is almost quick bread!


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 pkg. yeast
    • 6 c. unsifted flour
    • 1 T. sugar
    • 2 t. salt
    • 2 c. skim milk
    • 1/4 t. baking soda
    • 1/2 c. water
    • cornmeal


    Instructions


    1. Combine 3 c. flour, yeast, sugar, salt and soda. Heat liquids to 120 degrees. Add hot liquids to dry ingredients. Beat well. Stir in rest of the flour. Mix well.

    2. Grease and sprinkle two loaf pans with cornmeal. Divide the dough between the two pans. Sprinkle tops with additional cornmeal. Cover and let rise 45 minutes.
    3. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Lower temperature to 350 degrees and bake for 20 - 25 minutes. Remove from pans and place on oven rack for an additional 5 minutes to crisp crust.
