Steph’s Ham & Cheese Croissant Strata

    Source of Recipe

    Our friend, Stephanie Burdett

    Recipe Introduction

Stephanie made this for breakfast when we visited them in the summer of 2012. It was so good and she said it was really easy and quick to put together. One croissant makes for a HUGE serving and we both thought that it would be good with the smaller croissants.

    List of Ingredients

    6 regular croissants, split
6 Swiss cheese slices, about 1 oz. each
    2 cups chopped deli ham
    8 large eggs
    1 1/2 c. milk
    2 t. Dijon mustard
    1/4 t. salt
    1/4 t. pepper
    1 c. (4 oz.) shredded Gruyere cheese
    Garnish: chopped fresh chives

    Recipe

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 13x9-inch baking pan with cooking spray. Arrange the bottom halves of each of the croissants (cut side up) in a layer in the baking pan. Top each with a slice of Swiss cheese. Evenly divide the ham on top of the cheese. Top each with the top half of the croissants.

Whisk the eggs, milk, mustard, salt and pepper together in a bowl. Pour over the croissants. Sprinkle with the Gruyere and bake for 35 minutes, or until browned and set. Garnish with the chives.

    Serves 6-10.
