    Frosting Cake

    Source of Recipe

    My mother, among others

    Recipe Introduction

This is a cake that Momma has been making for awhile and it is addicting. She makes them with a yellow cake and German Chocolate frosting. Other ideas that I've seen online include strawberry cake/coconut frosting (I've never seen coconut frosting in a can, but this sounds great), spicecake/caramel frosting, carrot cake/cream cheese frosting, chocolate cake/coconut pecan frosting - really whatever sounds good to you. This makes are really good, moist cake. The Bundt pan version will look a little nicer, I think, if you glaze it with something or dust with 10X or cocoa or garnish with some fruit.

    List of Ingredients

    1 box cake mix
    4 eggs
    1 c. milk
    3/4 c. oil
    1 can frosting

    Recipe

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

BY HAND (important) mix together the cake mix, eggs, milk and oil. Add frosting and mix until well blended. Put into a greased 9X12-inch pan or 12 cup Bundt pan and bake. For the 9X12-inch, bake according to box directions, cooking for about 3-4 minutes longer; test it see that it is firm through the middle. Bake a bundt cake for about 1 hours.

For the 9X12-inch you can leave it in the pan and serve from there. For the Bundt cake, cool for 10 minutes before turning out onto a rack.
