Recipe Introduction
This is an absolutely delicious, basic pound cake. Moist and rich tasting, perfect plain or with embellishments! One wonderful thing is that you can substitute Splenda for the sugar and it turns out perfectly.

½ c. Crisco
5 eggs
3 c. flour
1/2 t. baking powder
1 c. milk

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Grease and flour a tube pan.
Cream butter and Crisco, add sugar and cream well until fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing each one in thoroughly.
Sift flour and baking powder together (add cocoa if doing choc).
Add dry to moist a little at a time alternating w/ milk – finish w/ flour.
Blend in flavorings. Pour into prepared pan.
Bake for 1 hour 45 minutes, and then test for doneness.
Cool 10 minutes in pan and then turn out onto cooling rack. Cool completely.
