    Cherry-Almond Dark Chocolate Fudge

    Source of Recipe

    My own

    Recipe Introduction

This is a riff on Aunt San’s fudge. I thought that the dried cherries and almonds would taste good with the dark chocolate. It was wonderful and Mike said it might be the best thing he’s ever tasted.

    List of Ingredients

20 oz. Cadbury dark chocolate bars, broken
    large can evaporated milk
    4 c. sugar
    6 T. butter - cut up
    7 oz. jar marshmallow creme
    1 t. vanilla
    1 1/2 + c. dried cherries
    1 1/2 + c. slivered almonds, toasted
Extra cherries & almonds to sprinkle on top

    Recipe

Grease a 13x9 pan and line bottom with parchment.

In a dutch oven mix sugar and evaporated milk. Cook, stirring, to soft ball stage (don’t let it get over 234 degrees). Remove from heat. Add broken up chocolate and butter. Stir. Add vanilla, cherries and almonds. When melted, add marshmallow creme and stir until it disappears.

Pour into pan and sprinkle with extra cherries and almonds. Refrigerate. Cut up when firm.
