    Crystal Candy

    Source of Recipe

    unknown

    Recipe Introduction

This is just regular old hard candy. But you can be pretty creative with add-ins, sprinkles shapes, colors and flavorings. You can make flavors and colors to compliment every season and holiday. It keeps forever, too!

Be very, VERY careful – this is amazingly hot – and stand back when you add the flavorings; especially things like cinnamon – the steam can burn you up!

    List of Ingredients

    • 4 c. sugar
    • 1 c. water
    • 1 c. Karo Light
    • food coloring
    • flavoring
    • 10-x

    Instructions

    1. Lightly spray a 9x13” disposable aluminum pan with cooking spray.
    2. Combine sugar, water and syrup in Dutch oven. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring almost constantly. Stir in food coloring. Continue to cook without stirring until mix reaches hard crack stage (300 degrees). Remove from heat; stir in flavoring oil. Working quickly, spread in prepared pan.
    3. Let cool. Break into pieces. Dust with 10-x so that the candy won’t stick. Store tightly covered.
