    Reeses Cup Fudge

    Source of Recipe

    A former co-worker

    Recipe Introduction

This is how I got the recipe years ago. I never cared very much for the chocolate/shortening top layer. Now I just make a half batch of Aunt San's fudge and use that as the top layer. This year (2017) I added about 1 bag of the Reeses peanut butter chips – it very much upped the peanut butter flavor. It wasn’t until I put on the chocolate layer that it occurred to me that adding some peanut powder might also add flavor and improve the texture. I’ll be trying that next year.

    List of Ingredients

    2 1/2 c. confectioner's sugar (10 oz.)
1/2 c. firm packed brown sugar
    2 c. peanut butter (500 grams)
    1/2 c. melted butter
1 bag of Reeses peanut butter chips
1 1/2 c. chopped milk or dark chocolate
    2 t. shortening

    Recipe

Mix the first 4 ingredients in a mixer. Mix in the peanut butter chips. Press into 13x9 pan. Melt the chopped chocolate with the shortening. Spread on top of the peanut butter layer. Refrigerate before cutting.

    Store in the refrigerator.

NOTE: This freezes very, very well!
