    Chocolate Toffee Bars

    Recipe Introduction


    A rich gooey cooky bar. Use a disposable aluminum pan.


    List of Ingredients


    • CRUST:
    • 1 c. flour
    • 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    • 1/2 c. butter
    • TOPPING:
    • 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    • 2 T. flour
    • 1 t. baking powder
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semisweet chocolate chips
    • 1/2 c. chopped nuts


    Instructions


    1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl, combine all crust ingredients; blend well. Press in bottom of ungreased 13x9" pan. Bake for 8 - 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes. Increase oven to 375 degrees.
    2. Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, combine 1 c. brown sugar, 2 T. flour, baking powder and eggs; blend well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Pour topping evenly over crust, spreading slightly if necessary.
    3. Bake for 13 - 18 minutes or until deep golden brown and center is set. Cool completely. Cut into bars.


    Final Comments


    Makes 36 bars.
