Chocolate Toffee Bars

Recipe Introduction
A rich gooey cooky bar. Use a disposable aluminum pan.
List of Ingredients
- CRUST:
- 1 c. flour
- 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. butter
- TOPPING:
- 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 T. flour
- 1 t. baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl, combine all crust ingredients; blend well. Press in bottom of ungreased 13x9" pan. Bake for 8 - 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes. Increase oven to 375 degrees.
- Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, combine 1 c. brown sugar, 2 T. flour, baking powder and eggs; blend well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Pour topping evenly over crust, spreading slightly if necessary.
- Bake for 13 - 18 minutes or until deep golden brown and center is set. Cool completely. Cut into bars.

Makes 36 bars.
