A neighbor of ours from when we were first married.


Recipe Introduction


These are unusual cookies. They turn out very large, airy and crisp. Good flavor, though. If I hadn’t tried them first, I wouldn’t have thought that I would like a cooky made with all shortening.


List of Ingredients




1 c. Crisco
2 eggs
1 ¾ c. sugar
1 salt
½ c. brown sugar
1 t. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 t. baking powder
2 c. chocolate chips


Recipe



Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Beat Crisco, eggs, sugars and vanilla until light and fluffy. Mix dry ingredients and add to Crisco mixture. Blend well. Stir in chips. Scoop ¼ c. portions onto parchment paper lined cooky pans.

Bake about 15 – 18 minutes until golden and firm on top.

Cool 5 minutes and remove from pan to rack. Cool completely.
