Spiced Chocolate Crinkles

Recipe Introduction
Really pretty cookies! Dark chocolate and white confectioner's sugar.
List of Ingredients
- 1/4 c. butter
- 4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
- 4 eggs
- 2 c. all purpose flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. chopped almonds
- 2 t. baking powder
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1/2 t. ginger
- 1/2 t. cinnamon
- 1/4 t. cloves
- powdered sugar
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, melt butter and chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat. Cool 5 minutes. (I did this in the microwave.)
- Add eggs; beat well. Add all remaining ingredients except powdered sugar; mix until well blended. (I mixed all the dry ingredients together before adding to the chocolate/butter mix.) Cover with plastic wrap; refrigerate at least 1 hour for easier handling.
- Heat oven to 300 degrees. Line cooky sheets with parchment paper. Shape dough into 1 inch balls; roll in powdered sugar, coating heavily. Place 2 inches apart on cooky sheets.
- Bake for 13 - 18 minutes or until set. Cool completely.
Final Comments
Makes 5 dozen cookies.
