    Doughnut Bread Pudding

    List of Ingredients


    • 9 glazed doughnuts (or frozen ones), day old
    • 2 large eggs plus 2 egg yolks
    • ½ c. + 1 T. sugar
    • 1 t. vanilla
    • ½ t. salt
    • ½ t. cinnamon
    • ¼ t. nutmeg
    • 3 c. whole milk


    Instructions


    1. Butter a 2-qt. baking dish and set aside.

    2. Cut doughnuts into eighths and spread evenly in baking dish.

    3. In a bowl, whisk together remaining ingredients and pour over doughnuts. Let rest 1 hour.

    4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    5. Make a water bath for the pudding by placing the baking dish in a shallow, oven proof pan. Fill oven proof pan with warm water and place in oven.

    6. Bake 70 – 75 minutes; center should be firm.



    Final Comments


    Serves 8.

    Serve warm or cold (warm is better). I sprinkled the top with cinnamon sugar before baking.
