    Hot Crabmeat Dip

    Southern Living Annual Recipes 1995

    List of Ingredients


    • 3 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
    • 1 small onion, grated
    • 2/3 c. Miracle Whip
    • 1/2 t. garlic powder
    • 1/2 t. salt
    • 1/2 t. pepper
    • 1/4 c. dry white wine or dry vermouth
    • 2 t. prepared mustard
    • 2 t. prepared horseradish
    • 1 lb. fresh lump crabmeat, drained
    • 2 T. chopped fresh chives
    • 2 T. fresh parsley, minced


    Instructions


    1. Combine the first 9 ingredients in a saucepan; cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until cream cheese melts.

    2. Stir in crabmeat and remaining ingredients. Transfer to a chafing dish (or crockpot on low) and keep warm.



    Final Comments


    Makes 6 cups.

    Serve with crackers or bread. Really good with a crusty bagette.
