    Recipe Introduction

These are a Christmas morning tradition in our house. I make and freeze these and sausage rolls a couple of weeks before the holiday and then we have a wonderful, no work Christmas breakfast!
This recipe calls for a package of frozen tart shells. These are with the frozen pie shells, but can be really hard to find. Feel free to make your own, or to just put them in a large pie shell! I just think the little individual ones are cute.

    List of Ingredients

    • 1 pkg. tart shells - baked blind at 375 degrees for 4 1/2 minutes
    • 10 strips bacon - fried crisp and crumbled
    • 3 oz. gruyere - shredded
    • 2/3 c. evaporated milk
    • 1 small onion minced fine and fried lightly in the bacon grease
    • 2 eggs

    Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. Divide onion, cheese and bacon between tart shells. Mix eggs and milk and pour over. Bake on the lowest rack for 30 minutes. If freezing, cool completely.

    Final Comments

    Makes 8.
