Recipe Introduction
These were very, very good – and, for ribs amazingly simple and easy. The only thing that I did differently was to make a simple dry rub with paprika, lemon pepper, Montreal steak seasoning and to put a little liquid (I happened to have some Sun Drop, so I used that – you could use beer, Dr. Pepper, even water) in the bottom of the pan when they were roasting in the oven. I used the rub at that point, too!
List of Ingredients
4 lb. bone-in country style pork ribs
1 medium onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
¼ c. vegetable oil
1 c. catsup
¼ c. packed brown sugar
¼ c. apple cider vinegar
¼ c. hot pepper sauce
2 T. Worcestershire sauce
2 T. prepared mustard
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Place ribs in a greased 13x9” baking dish. Cover and bake for 1 ½ hours or until no longer pink.
Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, sauté the onion and garlic in oil until tender. Stir in the remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Set aside.
Drain ribs. Grill, covered, over indirect low heat for 45 minutes, turning once. Baste with barbecue sauce. Grill 15 minutes longer or until meat is tender, turning and basting frequently.
Serves 6.
