    Buttermilk Chive Biscuits

    List of Ingredients


    • 2 c. flour
    • 1 T. baking powder
    • 1/2 t. baking soda
    • 1/2 t. salt
    • 1/4 c. chilled butter, cut into small pieces
    • 3/4 c. lowfat buttermilk
    • 1 large egg
    • 1/4 c. chopped fresh chives


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse meal.

    2. Combine buttermilk and egg. Stir in chives. Add this mixture to flour mixture and stir until just moist.

    3. Turn dough out onto floured board, knead lightly 5 times. Pat out to 1/2" thickness; cut w/ 2" biscuit cutter. Place dough rounds, 1" apart, on baking sheet lined w/ parchment paper. Bake 12 minutes or until golden.



    Final Comments


    Great with Apple Cider-Glazed Pork Tenderloin!

    Makes 20 biscuits.
