Buttermilk Chive Biscuits

List of Ingredients
- 2 c. flour
- 1 T. baking powder
- 1/2 t. baking soda
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1/4 c. chilled butter, cut into small pieces
- 3/4 c. lowfat buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 c. chopped fresh chives
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse meal.
- Combine buttermilk and egg. Stir in chives. Add this mixture to flour mixture and stir until just moist.
- Turn dough out onto floured board, knead lightly 5 times. Pat out to 1/2" thickness; cut w/ 2" biscuit cutter. Place dough rounds, 1" apart, on baking sheet lined w/ parchment paper. Bake 12 minutes or until golden.
Final Comments
Great with Apple Cider-Glazed Pork Tenderloin!
Makes 20 biscuits.
