    Easy Buttermilk Biscuits

    Source of Recipe

    Unknown

    List of Ingredients

    • 2 c. self-rising Southern biscuit flour
    • 1 t. sugar
    • ¼ c. chilled butter, cut into pieces
    • ¾ - 1 c. cold buttermilk

    Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

    2. Mix flour and sugar. Cut in butter until it has the consistency of cornmeal. Add buttermilk and stir. When it comes together, knead gently and quickly with floured hands.

    3. Roll out on a floured bowl, handling as little as possible. Cut out biscuits (thin for pot pie crust, thicker for biscuits). Place on parchment paper lined pans. Bake until light golden – about 12 minutes.

    Final Comments

You can actually make these to the point of baking a couple of hours ahead, cover the pan with plastic wrap and refrigerate. Nice trick!
