    Recipe Introduction


    Great side dish. We love wild rice and this is all wild rice - not mixed with white. Good with duck.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1/3 c. butter
    • 1/2 c. snipped parsley
    • 1/2 c. chopped green onions
    • 1 c. chopped celery
    • 1 1/4 c. wild rice
    • 1 - 10 1/2 oz. can condensed consomme, undiluted
    • 1 1/2 c. boiling water
    • 1 t. salt
    • 1/2 t. dried marjoram
    • 1/2 c. sherry


    Instructions


    1. In dutch oven or heavy skillet with tight fitting cover, melt butter; add parsley, onions and celery. Saute until soft but not brown. Add rice, consomme, water, salt and marjoram. Cook, covered, over low heat, for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally with a fork. Add a little hot water if mixture becomes dry and starts to stick. When rice is tender and all liquid has been absorbed, stir in sherry. Cook, uncovered, about 5 minutes or until sherry is absorbed, stirring occasionally.
