Marlene's Blue Cheese Dressing

Recipe Introduction
A thick, rich and very fresh tasting dressing. I had to add a little cream to thin the dressing. When I was a kid, we used to go to a restaurant called Steve's in what is now Crystal City. They served this salad with a slab of iceberg rather than a wedge and the dressing was the best I had ever tasted. Marlene's dressing tastes like I remember Steve's tasting.
List of Ingredients
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
juice of 1/2 lemon
3-4 T finely snipped chives
dash of tabasco
home made bacon bits
extra chives for garnish if desired
1 1/2 cups crumbled blue cheese. I used Danish for this.
Recipe
Mix the mayonnaise, sour cream lemon juice and tabasco together until smooth. Stir in the snipped chives and crumbled blue cheese.
Spoon the dressing over iceberg lettuce wedges, then garnish with bacon bits and extra chives.
