Recipe Introduction
These are really easy. They are terrifically hot. You can certainly control the heat by varying the hot sauce that you use, but even if you were to only use Tabasco, they would still be very, very hot. My husband, Mike liked them, I didn't even try them!
List of Ingredients
- 1/8 c. (2 T.) Tabasco sauce
- 1/8 c. peanut oil
- juice of one lime
- 1 t. sugar
- 1/4 c. bottled, crushed jalapenos, drained
- 8 drops of "Liquid Smoke"
- Other hot sauce of your choice to make 1 c. of liquid
- 2 lbs. dry-roasted, salted peanuts
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients except for peanuts thoroughly. Place peanuts in ziplock bag. Pour mixture over peanuts. Seal bag and squeeze to mix.
- Marinate in refrigerator overnight. Turn the bag occasionally.
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread peanuts evenly over sheet. Roast for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, stirring every half hour.
- Turn oven off, and let the peanuts rest in the closed oven overnight to dry out.
- Store in airtight container lined with paper towels.
