Recipe Introduction


A nice alternative to regular Chex Mix. This recipe works best on a dry day.


List of Ingredients




1 cup light Karo syrup
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup butter
1 pinch baking soda
2 t. cinnamon
2 t. vanilla extract
18cups mixed cereals and nuts - Golden Grahams, Chex, Honey Nut Cheerios, etc.


Recipe



Heat oven to 250F. Spray two large disposable aluminum roasting pans with cooking spray.

In a medium saucepan melt the butter, sugar and Karo and bring to a boil. Add the baking soda, cinnamon and vanilla extract, mixing well. Pour over the mixed cereals and toss until completely combined. Divide this mixture between the roasting pans and bake for 25-30 minutes. Remove from oven and spread out onto parchment paper. When cool enough to touch, break the clumps apart. Do this occasionally until completely cooled. Store airtight.
