Recipe Introduction
This is my husband's favorite chili. He messed around with the recipe and came up with this. Some of the amounts are 'to taste' rather than exact - it's a bit different every time. He likes it hot, so he always adds jalapenos at the end.
List of Ingredients
- 4 lb. hamburger
- 1 yellow onion
- 5 cloves garlic
- 3 packs chili seasoning
- 1 - 28 oz. can pureed tomatoes
- 1 jar tomato sauce
- 2 large cans pinto/kidney beans
- 1 regular can beans
- pepper
- taragon
- sugar
- salt
- cinnamon
- red pepper
Instructions
- Brown the meat and onions. Drain. Add the dry ingredients and cook on low to release the fragrance. Add the wet ingredients and simmer for one hour or more.
Final Comments
If this gets too dry, you can add water or more pureed tomatoes.
Serve with jalapenos, cheese, sour cream and olives.
