Lemon Sauce for Gingerbread

- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 T. cornstarch
- 1/4 t. salt
- 2 c. water
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 T. grated lemon zest
- 3 T. lemon juice
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, mix sugar, cornstarch and salt. Gradually stir in water.
- Cook, stirring constantly, until mix thickens and boils. Boil and stir one minute.
- Remove from heat. Stir in butter, zest and lemon juice.
