Recipe Introduction
This makes a good hard icing for piping on to cakes, cookies, etc. It uses meringue powder instead of fresh egg whites, so you don't have to wonder what to do with all those egg yolks! This makes about one cup. You can double if you need more. Also, you can color this.
List of Ingredients
- 1 T. + 1 3/4 t. meringue powder
- 2 c. + 1 T. sifted confectioners' sugar
- 3 T. + 1/4 t. water
Instructions
- Beat all ingredients at low speed for 7 to 10 minutes, or until icing forms peaks.
Final Comments
Keep icing covered with wet kitchen towel at all times. Icing dries out very quickly.
