    Cabbage Ham and Potato Soup

    1 (46 oz.) can chicken broth
    2 1/2 qts. water
    2# (approx.) cabbage, chopped
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 or 2 carrots, sliced
    3 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
    1 1/4 lb. (approx.) ham diced
    Ham flavored soup base to taste

    This makes a lot.
    Add all ingredients, except ham flavoring, to large pot. Cook until vegetables are desired doneness. Season with ham base to taste.
    *Sometimes, I lightly brown 4 TBS. butter, stir in 4 TBS. flour and add to soup at the end. Gives it a great flavor.
