    Hearty Split Pea Soup

    9 Servings ( 1 Cup ); 4 Points per serving

    List of Ingredients




    1 package (16 ounces) dried Split Peas (or Lentils)
    2 cups fully cooked turkey ham - cubed
    1 cup diced carrots
    1 medium onion, chopped
    2 garlic cloves, crushed
    2-3 bay leaves
    1/2 teaspoon pepper
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    5 1/2 cups boiling water
    1 cup skim milk, warmed
    3 tablespoons fat free half and half, warmed

    Recipe



    In a slow cooker, layer the first eight ingredients in order listed. Gently pour hot water into crock. (DO NOT STIR).

    Cover and cook on high for 4-5 hours or until vegtables are tender. Gently stir in milk and half and half. Cook an additional 15 minutes. Discard bay leaves before serving.

    Yields 9 (1 cup) servings.
