    1 ready to bake pie crust
    CRUNCHY CRUMB TOPPING:
    1/2 cup + 2 tbs all purpose flour
    1/2 cup light brown sugar
    1/3 cup sugar
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1 stick butter
    FILLING:
    7 tart apples
    1 tbs lemon juice
    1/2 cup sugar
    3 tbs all purpose flour
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    1/8 tsp nutmeg

    Have 9 inch pie plate and baking sheet ready. HEAT OVEN TO 450 DEGREES. Line pie plate with piecrust. Crimp edge. TOPPING: Mix flour, sugars, and cinnamon in bowl. Cut in butter until mixture forms moist, coarse crumbs.
    FILLING:
    Peel, halve, and core apples. Cut in slices. Place in bowl, add lemon juice, toss to coat. Mix remaining ingredients in another bowl, sprinkle over apple slices and toss to coat. Layer apples in pie shell, pat topping over apples to
    form a top crust. Place pie on baking sheet. Bake 15 min. REDUCE OVEN TEMP TO 350 DEGREES. And bake 45 min. until topping is golden brown. Cool before serving.*
