    Polish Sausage and Cabbage

    to family size)


    List of Ingredients


    • 3/4 Cabbage head -- sliced course
    • 2 Onions, large -- cut 1" slices or in cubes/chunks
    • 2 Potatoes, large -- peeled/diced
    • 2-3 lbs. Polish Sausage cut in 1" pieces or leave as whole link
    • 1 tsp. Salt
    • 14 ounces Chicken Broth or I like to reserve my vegetable water after cooking my veggies(freeze it) and I use that
    • 1/2 teaspoon Caraway seed
    • Dill(fresh) to taste
    • 1 Bay leaf if desired


    Instructions


    1. Place sliced cabbage in crockpot.
    2. Toss with diced potato, salt, caraway seed and fresh dill.
    3. Add sliced onion and Polish sausage.
    4. Pour chicken broth or veggie stock over all; stir lightly.
    5. Cover and cook on LOW setting for 8 to 10 hours (on HIGH setting for 2 to 4 hours).
    6. This dish is delicious served with mustard,
      horseradish, boiled new potatoes and fresh salad.
    7. Makes 6 servings
      (about 4 quarts)
