    Chinese BBQ Ribs

    Chinese BBQ Ribs
    3-4 lbs Spare ribs or Country style ribs

    Marinating sauce:
    1/2 cup Chinese Hoison Sauce******SEE NOTE
    1/2 tsp garlic salt or two cloves fresh garlic
    1/4 tsp meat tenderizer
    1 tsp sesame oil
    1/4 cup sugar (white or brown will work)

    Honey

    Rinse ribs with cold water and pat dry.

    Mix ingredients above except for honey and marinate ribs in sauce above overnight or for at
    least 6 hours turning meat occasionally to marinate other side.

    Preheat oven to 350.

    Line foil on baking tray combined wiht slotted tray. (broiling pan) Add 1/2 cup water to bottom
    of pan to help steam ribs so they are tender and not dry.

    Place ribs on slotted tray and bake 1 hour. Turn to other side and bake for 15 minutes.

    Brush unused sauce over ribs and broil for 5 minutes or put on grill for 5 minutes.

    Baste with warm honey when taken off grill or away from broiler. Cut and serve.

    ***** True hoison sauce has soy in it. If you do not have soy sauce in it then it is not a good
    sauce.

    You can make your own by using 5 T ketchup and 3 T of soy sauce.
