    List of Ingredients


    • 3-4 medium onions, thinly sliced
    • 3 T butter, melted
    • 2 T flour
    • 1 C boiling water
    • 1 quart milk, scalded
    • 1/2 C evaporated milk, scalded
    • salt and pepper
    • paprika
    • Italian grated cheese


    Instructions


    1. Simmer onions in butter until a light tan color. blend in flour, add water and simmer, stirring constatly, until onions are tender. Stir in milk and evaporated milk and simmer gently for 10 minutes, stirring constatly.
    2. Season to taste; simmer a moment more, then serve topped by a light sprinkling of cheese.
