    List of Ingredients


    • 2 C sweetened, cooked, fruit or berries
    • 1/2 C flour
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • pinch salt
    • 1 T shortening
    • 3 T milk


    Instructions


    1. Put fruit in a kettle which has a a tight fitting lid. Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening. Add milk.
    2. Heat fruit to a boil. Dip a teaspoon into boiling sauce and cut off a teaspoon of dough. Drop into fruit. Repeat until all dough is used. Cover kettle tightly and boil 15 minutes or until dumplings are done. Do not lift lid.
    3. Serve hot or cold, plain or with cream.
