    1 C butter
    1 1/2 C sugar
    2 large eggs
    2 T cream
    4 C flour
    1 tsp baking powder
    1 tsp almond extract
    1 T vanilla
    prune filling (follows)

    Recipe



    Cream butter and add sugar gradually. Continue to cream until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well.
    Sift dry ingredients and work into first mixture. Add flavorings. Knead to work in all the flour. Divide into 5 equal parts and roll out as for sugar cookies. Cut out 9 inch circles of dough and bake on greased cookie sheets at 375 degrees F. until golden brown. Remove from cookie sheets at once and cool on racks. Place first layer top side down on large cake plate and spread with 1/4 of the filling. Continue with 3 more layers. Place fifth layer on top. Let stand several hours or overnight. To serve cut into thin slices.

    Filling
    1 pound dried prunes, cooked in water and pitted.
    1 C sugar
    1 T cinnamon.
    1/2 C liquid prunes were boiled in.
    1 tsp vanilla.
    Drain prunes, reserving 1/2 cup of the liquid. In a saucepan, slowly bring to a boil all except vanilla. Cook slowly until thick. Add vanilla.
