1 1/2 C yellow peas
2 qts water
heaping tsp dried savory
a dollop of butter for each serving
Recipe
Rinse and soak the peas overnight. Drain.
Bring the peas in the 2 quarts water to a boil. Add savory. Reduce heat and simmer, partially covered with a lid for 2 1/2-3 hours. Puree or mash the peas.
Serve hot with a dollop of butter.
