    Elk Steak, Broiled

    Recipe Introduction

    Serves 4.

    List of Ingredients

    2 pounds elk steak, 1 inch thick
    1 clove garlic
    2 T butter or other fat, melted
    4 large mushroom caps
    salt
    pepper
    parsley
    watercress

    Recipe

    Wipe steak with a damp cloth. Rub both sides with cut surface of garlic and brush with butter. Place on a greased broiler rack in a hot broiler for 5 minutes. Turn and brush with butter and broil 5-8 minutes longer. Broil mushroom caps. Season steak with salt and pepper and garnish with mushroom caps, parsley and watercress.
