    Colombian Fritters

    Source of Recipe

    Internet

    List of Ingredients

    1 1/2 Cup MASECA®
1 Pound Fresh Mexican White Cheese
    1 1/2 Cup Cornstarch
    2 Tbsps. Baking Powder
    1/4 Cup Sugar
    3 Eggs
    1/4 Cup Water

    Recipe

In a bowl add the fresh Mexican White Cheese and crumble with your hands. Once ready, add the cornstarch, baking powder, sugar, MASECA®, eggs and water. Mix all these ingredients together and start kneading until a smooth, slightly moist mixture is formed.

When the dough is ready, divide it into 30 small balls, approximately 1 in. in diameter each, forming a very round ball without cracks.

Once all the balls are ready, fry them in a pan with hot oil until they are a nice, slightly dark golden color.

Drain on paper towels and serve hot. Accompany with coffee, are quipe (caramel spread) or syrup.
