    4 1/2 C milk, divided
    2 eggs, separated
    1/2 C flour
    1 C sugar
    1 tsp vanilla
    nutmeg

    Recipe



    Heat just to a boil 4 cups of the milk.
    Beat the egg yolks with the flour, sugar and vanilla. Add this to the milk mixture and let boil until thickened, stirring.
    Beat the egg whites stiff and fold into the milk mixture. Serve warm or cold sprinkled with nutmeg.
