    Crust;
    1 C flour
    1/2 C butter
    1 T water

    Filling;
    1 C water
    1/2 C butter
    1 C flour
    3 eggs
    1/2 tsp almond extract

    Frosting
    1 T butter
    1 T milk
    1 C powdered sugar
    slivered almonds

    Crust;
    Make as for any pie dough.
    Pat dough into 2 strips on ungreased cookie sheets, about 3 inches wide.

    Filling;
    Melt butter in boiling water. Remove pan from stove and add flour all at once. Mix well. Spread onto strips of dough and bake 40 minutes at 375 degrees F. Cool.

    Frosting;
    Mix butter, milk and powdered sugar. Frost kringle and spread with almonds.
