    Sweet and Spicy Nuts

    C&H Pure Cane Sugar

    List of Ingredients




    2 C unsalted mixed nuts, such as pecans and whole almonds
    1 1/2 T unsalted butter
    2 T firmly packed C&H Pure Cane Dark Brown Sugar
    1 1/2 T C&H Pure Cane granulated sugar
    1/2 tsp cayenne
    1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
    1 tsp salt

    Recipe



    In a heavy skillet, cook nuts over moderate heat, stirring, 2 minutes. In a small bowl, stir together sugars, cayenne, pepper and salt. Sprinkle over nuts. Continue to cook nuts, stirring constantly until sugar caramelizes, about 8 minutes. Transfer nuts to a sheet of foil and cool. Break nuts apart. Keep in an airtight container up to 3 days. Makes 2 C.
