    1. Use fully grown, firm bell peppers. Cut a slit in the side. Remove seeds.
    2. Make a strong brine of salt and water to float an egg. Put the peppers in it for 3 days. Soak in clean water for a day and a night.
    3. Pack into crock and add boiling vinegar and a piece of alum and let set for 3 days. Put the vinegar in large pot and bring to a boil. pour vinegar over peppers.
    4. Stuff the peppers with chopped cabbage, mustard seed, cloves, horseradish pieces, Pepper and a small onion. Tie up and pack into jars. Boil vinegar and pour over peppers.
    5. Seal 15 minutes.
