    TWIST, CINNAMON

    List of Ingredients

    1 cup sour cream
    3 tbls. sugar
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 cake yeast
    1 large egg
    2 tbls. soft shortening
    3 cups sifted flour

    Recipe

    1 cup sour cream - heat to lukewarm. Remove from heat and add 3 tbls. sugar, 1/2 tsp. soda, 1 tsp. salt. Crumble into mixture 1 cake yeast. Stir until dissolved Add 1 large egg, 2 tbls. soft shortening, 3 cups sifted flour. Mix well (using hands if necessary). Turn dough onto floured board and fold over several times until it is smooth. Then roll into an oblong 24 in. by 6 in. Spread with 2 tbls. soft butter. Sprinkle half of the dough with mixture of 1/3 cup brown sugar, 1 tsp. cin­namon. Fold other half over. Cut into 24 strips 1 in. wide then twist them and place on greased Pan. Let rise. Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 375. Frost with powdered sugar.
