Buttermilk pie

List of Ingredients
- 6 T butter
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 C sugar
- 2 T all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 C buttermilk
- 1/3 C sliced almonds or 1/2 C dried currants
Instructions
- Melt the butter and set it aside to cool.
- Combine the eggs, sugar, flour, cooled butter, vanilla and salt. Beat with a whisk until smooth and uniform.
- Add buttermilk and blend well.Pour into an unbaked pie shell. Sprinkle with nuts or currants.
- Bake 45 minutes or until the surface is golden brown and center is set.
