    Buttermilk pie

    List of Ingredients


    • 6 T butter
    • 4 eggs
    • 1 1/2 C sugar
    • 2 T all-purpose flour
    • 1 tsp vanilla
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 1 C buttermilk
    • 1/3 C sliced almonds or 1/2 C dried currants


    Instructions


    1. Melt the butter and set it aside to cool.

    2. Combine the eggs, sugar, flour, cooled butter, vanilla and salt. Beat with a whisk until smooth and uniform.

    3. Add buttermilk and blend well.Pour into an unbaked pie shell. Sprinkle with nuts or currants.

    4. Bake 45 minutes or until the surface is golden brown and center is set.
