    Apple Butter
    Butter the bread and spread one slice with pimiento cheese, apple butter and chopped nuts. Cover with another slice of bread and toast in the oven.

    Apricot Horseradish
    2/3 C dried apricots
    1/4 C sugar
    1 1/2 C water
    few grains salt
    Horseradish
    Simmer apricots in water until soft, add sugar and simmer 5 minutes. Serve on buttered whole wheat bread.

    Apricot cheese
    1/2 C dried apricots
    1 C water
    2 T sugar
    3 oz cream cheese
    salt
    Simmer the cut up apricots n the water 10 minutes or until it is absorbed. Add sugar. Cool. Cream with the cream cheese and add a few grains salt, (4-5 drops A-1 sauce if desired). mix and serve on thin slices buttered bread.

    Currant Jelly
    Combine equal amounts of jelly and banana pulp to a spreadable consistency. Serve on buttered rye bread.

    Date
    6 dates, chopped
    2 tsp butter or cream cheese
    few drops citrus juice
    Combine and spread on bread.
    Var: Add raisins, salt and peanut butter with a little syrup and lemon juice. Substitute prunes if desired.
    Var: use equal amounts of cream cheese and chopped dates combined with mayonnaise dressing to moisten.
    Var: use dates and add 2 T orange juice, 2 T chopped nuts and 2 T tart jelly. Omit cream cheese.

    Fig Nut
    1 C ground figs
    1/4 C chopped nuts
    4 T honey
    1 T lemon juice
    mayonnaise dressing
    mix thoroughly with enough dressing to moisten. Serve on buttered bread.


    Fruit Cheese
    1 C crumbled roquefort cheese (or blue)
    2 T cream
    1 T chopped maraschino cherries
    1 1/2 T chopped candied citron
    1 1/2 T chopped candied ginger
    salt
    Mix well and serve on thin slices buttered bread.

    Marmalade
    1/2 C grated cheese
    1/2 C marmalade
    1/4 C cream
    prepared mustard
    Combine the cheese and cream and mix until blended. Spread on a slice of bread. On another slice of bread spread the marmalade combined with the mustard. assemble and serve.


    Pineapple-peanut
    5 T crushed pineapple
    3 T peanut butter
    1/2 tsp salt
    Blend well and serve on thin slices buttered bread.

    Raisin
    Butter bread, cover with raisins and more bread. Toast in the oven.

    Raisin Honey
    1 C chopped raisns
    1/8 tsp salt
    3 T honey
    1/4 C chopped nuts
    1 1/3 T lemon juice
    1 T mayonnaise
    Serve on thin slices of brown bread.


    Raisin-coconut
    1/2 C raisins
    1/2 C coconut or chopped nuts
    1/2 C grated carrots
    2 T chopped green pepper
    1/8 tsp salt
    Mayonnaise dressing
    Chop the raisins, combine all, and moisten with dressing.
